HB 221 (Immunization of Students Amendments) Libertas Institute opposes this bill. Current law allows parents of children in public or private schools to claim a one-time medical, religious, or personal exemption from vaccinating their children as a condition of admittance to school. This bill would make the exemption an annual requirement, in addition to forcing parents to view an "online education module" from the Department of Health regarding vaccines in order to receive the exemption.
