Libertas Institute opposes this bill.

This bill would require unlicensed midwives to proactively notify their clients that they have not been given the blessing of government approval through licensure, and that "the risk of harm or death to a mother or newborn may be greater" as a result, which is misleading.

Libertas Institute opposes this bill. While we wholeheartedly support informed consumerism, this should be done at the initiative and behest of the consumer alone; the government should not force free people to suggest that government licensure is an ideal test of their competency, skill, or quality.
